Tony Sheil (CEDR Mediator)
Partner Sheil Solicitors LLP. Qualified 1979.

Having qualified in 1979, Tony worked in Wicklow and in Dublin City and County before establishing his own practice in 1982. In 1989 the practice merged with E. O. Sheil & Company founded by Tony’s late father Eamon O Siadhail.

The Sheil legal presence on the quays originated in 1906 on Bachelor’s Walk with the offices of Tony’s great uncle, John J. Sheil, chairman of Dublin City and County Council, and was maintained until the practice’s relocation to its present address in 2008.

Currently the Managing Partner of Sheil Solicitors LLP, Tony’s 42 years experience encompasses commercial and civil mediation and litigation, judicial review, planning and building law. His considerable and extensive experience extends to representing financial institutions, insurance companies, high street retailers and international haulage enterprises.

His responsibilities as Managing Partner include regular progress reports and evaluations of the practice’s portfolio of commercial clients, with case management and review to include legislative updates.

Due to recent legislation and developments, the areas of Commercial Mediation, Mental Health and Capacity and Education and the Law are of particular interest.

Tony is presently the Irish delegate to Lexlink, the International Legal Network. He has lectured on law to third level college students. He has served as president of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association and as Council Member of the Law Society. He is a CEDR accredited Mediator.
